FRM II Sample tracker help

General

As a nuclear facility FRM II is required to keep an accurate inventory of radioactive materials on site. This includes irradiated user samples as well. Therefor we require all samples to get registred before entering FRM II.

Manage samples

This is the main entry point if you are an external user. After entering the proposal id of your proposal, you are able to select all scheduled experiments for this proposal.

After selecting a proposal you get an input form where you can enter the information for each sample.

Sample Information
Please enter here your own sample identification. Preferrably use the same name as used on your transport box.
Formula
Specifiy the chemical formula of your sample. The the tooltip or formula help for details.
Mass
Specifiy the sample mass in gramms
Volume
Specifiy the sample volume in mm³
Radioactive
If your sample is radioactive (either naturally or due to previous experiments) tick this box. You will get an addtional input field wher you should specify the activity (in Bq per isotope) of your sample. These samples will need special processing before entering FRM II, so contact your local contact or radioprotection good time in advance to clarify the procedure.

You can add more samples with the "add" button, copy the data from a sample using the "copy button" or reference a sample that is already at FRM II using the "add existing" button.

Once you are finished you should save the data using the "Save and refresh" button. After that you will get the results from the activation calculation and possibly further information if your samples need special handling.

Sample info

On this page you will find detailed information about your sample.

In addition to the required information of the first form, you can also enter additional information as text or upload an image of your sample. These features are of special interesst if the sample shall be kept at FRM II so the local contact can identify the sample later.
